Costing Accountant position Responsibilities

• Update standard costs in the bill of materials.
• Validate the cost of goods sold as part of the month-end close.
• Accumulate and apply overhead costs as required by generally accepted accounting principles.
• Work with the materials review board to locate and dispose of obsolete inventory.
• Plan, Study, and collect data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor, analyzing data collected and recording results.
• Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided, to determine effects on cost.
• Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
• Conduct audits of costs, analyze gaps between standard and actual costs; investigate inaccuracies and prepare variance reports.
• Develop estimates of new and proposed product costs.
• Develop NTT monthly cost reporting including Breakeven points, margins, periodic variances, prices/profitability factors, etc. to facilitate follow-up and decision-making.
• Costing & production controlling.
